"I called and had a tech come out to see whether the tub and shower could be resurfaced. They can resurface fiberglass, but not if it contains acrylic. I didn't know, and it turned out the tech had to try a chemical on a little spot to confirm there was no acrylic there. On the appointment day, a different tech came. He did the first step, which is an acid etch, to clean the surface. Once that was done, it looked good enough that they did not need to apply the coating. The tech was very helpful in pointing that out, instead of applying the coating and charging me for it. As a result, I saved about half of the estimated cost. The tub and shower pan look very good now."
